The iPhone 5 built for 4G is COMING!!!

Lots of speculation is going around on the new iPhone 5... in HD!!

Verizon Wireless is currently testing a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 and 5 and Verizon confirms they are making network changes to bring the iphone to their network. The new iPhone 5 is going to be loaded with awesome new features like video chat on 3g and 4g (no longer restricted to WiFi only), face recognition and extreme downloading. (List of possible features below). Just when you think there is nothing else to come up with, more and more and more technology comes out. And it is on the rise, and not just at Apple, Inc!

This iPhone 5 will have dual core processors and higher and powerful graphic chips that can deliver higher video resolutions and better "still" images when taking pictures, AND it will make multi-tasking a breeze.

There are a few networks working on building a 4G network. T-mobile would be a likely carrier since they are GSM already. Sprint has a 4G network already... AT&T and Verizon Wireless are in the beginning stages. There are talks of Verizon Wireless getting iPhone sometime in 2010 but it looks like they will get it for sure in 2011 when the new iPhone 5 comes out.

Whether or not it will be 4G will be up to them!... can they build in time? They will definitely have the 3G version of iPhone, but with the new iPhone 5 (4g speeds) coming out, will they compete?! Regardless, there is much anticipation on how many people will leave AT&T for Verizon Wireless because of AT&T's lagging on app restrictions like Slingplayer and Google Voice and Skype (on 4g network, not Wi-Fi).

AT&T's restrictions have caused the percentage of people that are JailBreaking their iPhones to rise since Jail Breaking usually comes with Cydia which is the app store for jail broken phones. Most of the applications, ringtones, and even iphone themes!...are free with Cydia. Winterboard is part of the download, and it very easily add's the changes to your phone so you dont have to figure how to do it on your own...it is VERY automated.

The Palm Pre on Sprint and HTC EVO (Sprint now offering a 4G network) has made an attempt at being competitive with iPhone and Blackberry...and it seems they are making head way, although with the iPhone 4 released and the iPhone 5 on the way, they are sure to lose. Oh ya, the Blackberry Torch? = Nice try... but that browser is NOT full HTML.

iPhone 5 looks promising in terms of being sleek, packed with new hardware and finally less restrictions. Very exciting.

Officially unveiled by Samsung earlier today, the Galaxy Ace S5830 will be available via 3 UK soon.

The British carrier intends to offer the smartphone on various plans, including its new all-you-can-eat plan (from £25 per month) – this will allow you to use the Galaxy Ace’s WiFi hotspot capability at any time.

The Galaxy Ace doesn’t run Android 2.2, as I previously thought, but the newer (and speedier) Android 2.2.1. Too bad it’s not Android 2.3 Gingerbread, right?

According to 3’s official website, the Galaxy Ace will be available starting February. The handset’s price was not announced, but we know it will not be a high one.

It is only to be expected that as Apple rolls out its beta version of iOS 4.3, developers will try to dig some information about just what the release contains. Well dug deep they did and what they found were the possible model numbers for the future iPad 2 and iPhone 5. Here’s what they found of the numbers.

The iPhone 3,1 model number refers to the current GSM iPhone 4, while the iPhone 3,2 number refers to the CDMA one. There’s another model number — the 3,3 — assigned for an unknown iPhone. We’ll leave it to the experts to start making rumors of possible new carrier for the iPhone in the US, which is rather unlikely.

The other model numbers that developers were able to extract were the iPhone 4,1 — which may refer to the upcoing GSM iPhone 5 — and the model number 4,2 — likewise, should be referring to CDMA iPhone 5. We can expect some improvements, such as a new chipset, for the new iPhones.

That’s not all! There’s also iPad 2,1 model number — as well as 2,2 and 2,3. The first one refers to iPad WiFi. And the rest refer to GSM iPad and CDMA iPad — respectively.

The upcoming iPhone 5 could turn out to be called iPhone 4G and finally connect the dots.

Following the Verizon iPhone announcement, which many Apple fans hoped would be more than what it turned out to be, several new clues about the upcoming iPhone 5 and iPad 2 have appeared on the Web. Let's consider Facetime as a hint of what is in the pipeline. Steve Jobs hinted at something possibly happening in 2011 as far as taking advantage of a data-intensive Facetime service on a mobile network.

Will the iPhone 5 actually be the iPhone 4G with 4G HSPA+ connectivity to be announced in June 2011, with the iPhone 4G with 4G LTE connectivity to be announced in January 2012? A source talking to Engadget indicates otherwise, and says the iPhone 5 will be a world phone capable of connecting to whatever network it comes across. In that particular aspect, we'll stick to the iPhone 4G theory for now.

However, Engadget's source brings up a number of other interesting information, such as a successor to the Apple A4 chip. Rumors of that has appeared on the Web in the last few days. According to Engadget's source, the next big thing in Apple's world is indeed an Apple A5 chip, which could possibly be available as three slightly different chips in the iPhone 5, iPad 2 and next-generation Apple TV, respectively.

Apple last year acquired a company called Intrinsity, which is regarded as a key acquisition to make sure that Apple chips can be designed in a way that lays the foundation for Apple bets to shine. Microsoft, on the other hand, has placed its bet on Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips. We predicted an entertainment battle between Apple and Microsoft last year.

However, Motorola officially teamed up with NVIDIA to join the entertainment battle during CES 2011 (more on the Droid Bionic). Motorola even took it further a couple of days later by creating an entirely new productivity battle too (more on the ATRIX 4G). Regardless of their performance, you can be sure of one thing though, NVIDIA will stand first in line to add WebM hardware acceleration.

Qualcomm, TI and Samsung are key members of the Open Handset Alliance, and will be quick to add WebM hardware acceleration too. Soon, all major manufacturers will offer WebM hardware acceleration, except Apple. H.264 will shine on Apple's iOS devices, while WebM will not. Also, while Intel may be planning to ruin Apple's ultimate Hollywood dream both on devices and in the digital home, let's not forget that Apple indeed has plans for a much larger effort than what has been seen to date also in the digital home.

That's where the next-generation Apple A5 chip comes into play. Especially on the new Apple TV, Apple must bring both the hardware experience and the content selection to a new level as the competition heats up. Engadget's source says that 1080p H.264 playback on the new Apple TV runs like flowing water. Nobody will expect less from Intrinsity.

So, what will the Apple A5 chip be tailored for on the iPhone 5 and iPad 2? Well, Engadget's source says that we should expect the Apple A5 chip to be multi-core capable. If that's the case, an 25% increase in general performance on a single core design without sacrificing battery life may possibly be expected. There's also a possibility that the iPad 2 will offer a bigger L2 cache to make it more computer-like. The iPhone 5 may possibly get the same treatment.

Last but not least, Engadget's source says that the iPad 2 will get a higher resolution in an attempt to create a Retina Display experience. In that regard, we imagine the iPad 2 will get higher memory bandwidth to squeeze out more power of the Apple A5 chip's integrated GPU, and ultimately take 3D gaming to the next level as far as hardware capabilities are concerned.

Let's not forget, however, that Samsung, Qualcomm, NVIDIA and Texas Instruments will all be delivering top-notch hardware solutions in 2011. Needless to say, 2011 is not the year when Apple can rely on hardware performance alone - it'll need to deliver the goods as far as service integration and capabilities are concerned. Steve Jobs has already promised that the MobileMe cloud service will get a lot better, so we'll keep our fingers crossed for promises to be held.

Back in September Sony Ericsson announced its new gadget for Android devices - LiveView. It’s a Bluetooth wristwatch that can remote control your phone. The LiveView is now getting an update that brings improved stability, compatibility with other Android handhelds and the number of available plug-ins raises to a total of 30.
With the number of compatible apps growing in the Android Market, LiveView has the potential to become a must-have accessory.
Some connection issues have reportedly been solved with the new update, although the Sony Ericsson official blog actually says “most identified reasons for random disconnects”, so that’s not exactly all, is it?
The crashes that users have reported have also been resolved, so here’s where active user feedback is paying off. Also automatic reconnect has been implemented, which means that should you leave the device and disconnect, upon coming in its range it will automatically connect you again.
Also compatibility with competitor’s phones has been vastly improved. That means that you don’t have to be limited to using only Sony Ericsson’s Android portfolio and can use LiveView with almost any Android device out there that has version 2.0 or higher. Though there are still some stability and reconnection issues with certain phones running Android 2.2 Froyo, the Sony Ericsson support page claims a simple reboot is all that’s needed to fix those.

A leaked slide by Nvidia reveals that the 3D-capable version of the Tegra 2 platform is entering mass production. LG registers the lgoptimus3d.nl domain. The yet unannounced LG Optimus 3D pops up at Dutch The Phone House web page. And then here comes this invitation to the LG MWC press conference that reads “Into the New Dimension”. Do you see the pattern?

Okay let's roll back a little. Back at CES 2011 LG showcased a 4.3" 3D mobile display and promised that we will get to see it on a working handset sooner than we might expect.

Next, GSMpedia stumbled upon a placeholder for a phone called the Optimus 3D on the The Phone House website and found out that the Benelux branch of LG has registered the lgoptimus3d.nl domain. Just like they did with the lgoptimus2x.nl, shortly before the Optimus 2X official introduction.
And that silhouette on the invite is almost identical to the one of the Optimus 2X (see below). Since that one was already announced, LG will obviously announce a device with near identical design, but bringing enough novelty to become the event centerpiece. You know, something like a 3D screen, perhaps.


Finally, here comes this tipster that drops us a line saying the next Optimus 2X will pack a couple of 8 megapixel cameras that will allow you to capture 3D images and a 3D display to browse them. Yeah, we laughed initially, too. We feel silly now.
And finally, yesterday we got this leaked slide from Nvidia, which confirms that a 3D-capable version of the Tegra 2 platform is just about to enter mass production.
At this point we couldn’t be more convinced that LG will be announcing a 3D-capable smartphone at the MWC. But it doesn't end there - we are pretty sure we'll be getting a 3D tablet to go with it too.
You see, LG already confirmed that they are working on a Tegra 2-based tablet. Coincidentally, an LG tablet appeared in a Korean music video, sporting two backwards-facing cameras. We rest our case.

We know, it's all conspiracy theory right now, but we guess it's never to late for LG to up their smartphone game and totally own the Congress.
